COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS - The Cougars overcame several obstacles to advance to Monday's College Station Regional championship game against Texas A&M at Olsen Field, but their pitching staff had been expended by that point and it showed. The Cougars' pitchers were roughed up by the top-seeded Aggies in a 13-5 loss that ended their miraculous run through the postseason. (0) comments
The Cougars battled from a two-point deficit and had a six-run inning in game two to defeat the Ragin Cajuns and force another game at Cougar Softball Stadium. However, the Cougars did not have the same success offensively in game three and lost 4-0 to ULL (51-13), who will advance to the NCAA Softball College World Series. (1) comment
The Houston Cougars dropped a game against UAB in the second round of the Conference USA tournament, but have battled back to win three consecutive games and reach the championship game. After defeating East Carolina, UH (38-22) had to defeat UAB (26-34) just to force another elimination game against the Blazers, which UH had to win to advance to the finals. (0) comments

Houston beat Alabama-Birmingham 10-5 after to keep their hopes at reaching the Conference USA Tournament finals alive. The Cougars (37-22) claimed the early 4-0 lead after two innings. The Blazers (26-33) answered with two in the fourth inning, but Houston continued to extend their lead with six runs in the next four innings to put the score at 10-5. (0) comments
Although the offense didn't exactly get off to an early start, the Cougars will take it anyway. UH senior pitcher Angel Shamblin didn't get her first strikeout of the game until the bottom of the fifth and UH did not score until the sixth, but the Cougars put up six runs in the inning to defeat Louisiana-Lafayette 6-3 at Cougar Softball Stadium in game two of the NCAA Super-Regionals. Even a four-run eighth inning by the Cougars was not enough for them to defeat No. 8 Alabama-Birmingham in the Conference USA Baseball Championship tournament. UAB (26-32) had a 4-0 lead over Houston (35-22) going into the eighth inning. Houston tied the game in the top of that inning, but the Cougars' hopes for a comeback were destroyed in the bottom of the ninth when UAB senior first baseman Ryan Keedy slammed a homer to left center to give the Blazers a 5-4 victory.
