to join Lady Cougars
Send comments to dcsports@mail.uh.edu.Signees among nation's top high school players Cougar Sports Services Four players signed National Letters of Intent and two signed Statements of Financial Aid last week, putting their name in to join the Lady Cougars in 2005, head coach Joe Curl announced Dec. 8. The signees, four guards and two forwards, are all ranked among the top 200 high school women's basketball players. The recruits who signed letters of intent are: Sha'Ratta Hawkins, of Jesse H. Jones High School in Houston; Nakazi Glover, of Bellaire High School in Houston; Nikita Robertson, of East St. John's High School in Reserve, La.; and Ryan Meyers, of Grayson County Junior College in Denison. Nichelle Roberts, a transfer from Kansas University, and Sha'Quaylon McKinney, a transfer from Trinity Valley Community College, accepted Statements of Financial Aid. "We are very excited about the quality of the student-athletes that
are now a part of our Lady Cougar and Houston family," Curl said in a release.
"With this class, we have really been able to capitalize on and establish
recruiting ties to our home city of Houston as well as in the Dallas area
and throughout the state."
