So you're cruising the Web and want something a little different? Try "Scenes from the Top," a Web diversion offered by The University of Texas at Austin.
The page (www.utexas.edu/tours/top) takes you to the 28th-floor observation deck of UT's clock tower, which has been closed since Oct. 28, 1974, following a shooting spree conducted by a gunman atop the building.
"Officer J.J.," your police escort (whom you meet in your virtual tour), takes you to the top of the tower, where you can view QuickTime movies taken in each direction - and even shift your view, looking up and down and from side to side.
It's comprehensive tour and it's also a way to view something you'll probably otherwise never see.
