High jumper Brooks Bassler of Rockdale, Texas, and hurdler Greg Christie of Perth Amboy, N.J., have signed with the Houston Cougars track and field team, UH coach Tom Tellez announced Wednesday.
Bassler has a career best 7-foot leap and finished third in Texas as a junior. Christie won the New Jersey State Championship in the 400-meter hurdles for Perth Amboy High School and was an All-American as a junior.
