
Interviews and auditions for these courses will be held Friday through May 2 by Stuart Ostrow. Auditions and interviews are necessary for students who participated in the 1997 classes.
Musical Theatre Collaboration
(class held 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Mondays)
Dramatists: will be chosen by prior submission of either book/libretto, music or lyrics from original adapted musicals or operas. Original poetry, plays, novels, short stories, newspaper articles, pop songs, art songs, symphonies, ballet music, screenplays or television scripts will also be considered. Entries must be received by Friday.
Directors and Choreographers: should audition a performance of a five-to 10-minute scene, song or dance (with cast and music) from any known or original musical or play. Auditions will be held April 25.
Designers: should show a portfolio, and/or any other example of their ability, by interview only.
Producers: by interview only.
Musical Theatre Lab
(class held 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays; company work for a gypsy run-through rehearsal and performance of a new musical for Broadway, 1040)
Stage Manager: coordinate all production aspects of lab performances, by interview only.
Singers: should perform a song/aria from any known musical or opera and a contrasting piece.
Dancers: should perform a one-to-two-minute jazz, ballet or tap routine and have a prepared 16-measure song.
