The third of four shows in a unique series entitled The no tsu oH, Eric Niebuhr presents Hey Eric, What's Cookin? Each artist was asked to create a specific art piece involving donuts and cupcakes. The show will include conventional types of art, such as photography, painting and sculpture, along with non-traditional subjects. An opening reception will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the subspace.
Gallery hours are noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and admission is free.

Kissed is director Lynne Stopkewwich's haunting tale of a young girl whose yearning for love is only quenched by the dead. It's not a horror story, but a compelling and strangely erotic examination of necrophilia. The screening takes place at midnight Saturday at the Landmark River Oaks Theater, where you'll be able to catch up with loyal fans of eternal midnight screenings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Friday and Saturday - The Edythe Bates Old Opera Center presents Francis Poulenc's Dialgoues of the Carmelites in a fully staged production at 7:30 p.m. Both performances are sung in French with English surtitles.
Carmelites tells the story of a young woman's struggle during the French Revolution. Admission is $7 ($5 for students), and tickets are available at the box office.
Monday - The Moores School Wind Ensemble will perform works by Morton Gould, Samuel Barber, Manuel de Falla and Leroy Osmon at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Admission is $5 ($3 for students).

The Mu chapter of Alpha Psi Omega, the UH School of Theatre's chapter of the national theatre fraternity, will present The Business of Acting at 1 p.m. Saturday, a workshop featuring Jenny Bosby of the Pastorini-Bosby Talent Agency, one of Houston's hottest theater/film agents; and Alissa Alban, local representative of the Actor's Equity Association.
Participants are encouraged to bring questions regarding the actor-agent relationship, preparing a résumé/headshot and membership in Actor's Equity. Admission is $5 to benefit the Alpha Psi Omega Scholarship Fund and free for members and pledges of the fraternity.

A.D. Players' production of The Diary of Anne Frank, a coming-of-age saga about a young Jewish girl whose family is forced into hiding to escape the wrath of Hitler, runs through May 18. Playwright Vanessa Curto's mixed media production, Write on Water, is a dramatic composition of Gaby and Marie, whose tragedies, fears and reconciliations incorporate dance, text and visual effects.
Scheduled performances are at 8 p.m. today and Friday at Hamman Hall on the Rice campus. Tickets are $10 at the door, $7 for reservations and $5 for students and groups of 20 or more.

The sixth play in Stages' season is the poignant and funny Dog Opera, which takes an affectionate look at the relationship between Peter, a proud gay man, and Madeline, an overweight librarian, as they both search for Mr. Right and deal with their lovable yet exasperating parents.
