Three sign with UH track

High jumper Jeff Mueller, distance runner Rolondo Rodriguez and sprinter and hurdler Adonis Coles have signed with the Cougars track and field team, UH track coach Tom Tellez announced Wednesday.

A Cy-Fair product, Mueller was the 1996 Class 5A state champion in the high jump and has a season-high mark of 7 feet 1/2 inches in 1997.

Rodriguez won the District 23-4A titles in the 1600- and 3200-meter run, and he also was the Region III-4A champion for Lamar Consolidated High School in Houston.

Coles was the Pennsylvania AAA state outdoor champion in the 100-meter hurdles last year and was ranked No. 4 in the nation in the 55-meter hurdles by Track and Field News.
