The Houston Cougars club soccer team qualified for the Southern National Tournament Finals after winning both matches at the Eastern Regional Finals in Alvin, Texas this weekend.
UH beat Northwestern State from Louisiana 2-1 Saturday and Northeast Louisiana State 6-0 Sunday.
Houston junior goalies Matt Heflin and Juan Ferrer each recorded a shutout (the one goal scored against UH was a penalty kick).
