The Houston Lady Cougars tennis team earned its first-ever regional bid after a 1997 dual match record of 17-5.
UH is seeded fourth at the start and will play No. 7 seed Texas Christian at 9 a.m. May 9 at Rice University.
Tennessee has the No. 1 seed and will face fifth seeded Baylor, also at 9 a.m.
No. 3 Texas A&M and No. 6 Rice face off at 1:30 p.m., and No. 2 Louisiana State and No. 8 Tulane also play at 1:30 p.m.
