Coming off a spectacular performance at the plate Tuesday, pitcher/shortstop Robert Dieudonné picked up a loss Wednesday as the Houston Cougars baseball team fell to the Lamar Cardinals 6-4 in Beaumont.

Waved in to relieve starter Jerret Sykes in the sixth with the score tied at three, the Cardinals scored two runs in the seventh to come away with the win.

Offensively, the Cougars were led by Goefrey Tomlinson, who hit 3-for-5, including two solo shots. Dieudonné scored an RBI single to help the pitching cause.

The Cardinals used eight pitchers in the game, with No. 6 pitcher Richard Templeton picking up the win. Eric Cammack picked up his seventh save of the season, a school record.

The game was a makeup for a rainout on February 26.

The Cougars fell to 32-18, while the Cardinals improved to 30-15-1.
