Taking advantage of this weekend's cloudless skies and great weather, people came out in droves to attend the Westheimer Street Festival, the biannual party held in the streets of the Montrose/Lower Westheimer area.
In the past, the festival has caused as many as 300,000 people to take to the streets, enjoying local bands and all sorts of booths and activities.
High temperatures and people with pets have long been mainstays of the street fest, so the Jane Greer Community Pet Watering Station was set up to keep the pets cool. But canines weren't the only festivalgoers taking a dip, as volunteer Crystal Dayton watered humans along with the pets (top).
Many musical acts also entertained the crowds, such as local band Sad Pygmy (middle left). Meanwhile, others had brought their pet reptiles along to show them off. Aaron Goff (middle right) bought his snake, Perry Farrell, at a booth at this year's festival.
Modes of transportation were as varied as the crowd. Festival attendees traveled down Westheimer (below) on foot, rollerblades, skateboards, wagons, strollers and bicycles.
