Chris Rock: Roll With the New
(DreamWorks)
If you don't mind having "Bad Phone Sex," "Champagne" and "Tossed Salad" all at once, then you will love Chris Rock's newest comedy album, Roll With the New, from DreamWorks Records.
Rock delivers a solid performance on his newest comedy release, and DreamWorks couldn't have featured a better comedian for its first comedy album release.
If you caught his HBO special "Bring the Pain," you will be familiar with some of the comedy sketches on Roll, but don't worry: He delivers several fresh new comedy sketches.
With a sketch about a record store clerk that confuses O.J. Simpson with the musical group the O'Jays, a blatant mockery of a few well-known musical producers and a frank discussion on the issues of racism, sex and sex after divorce, Rock definitely isn't holding back the punches.
Rock's sudden career boost further proves that good things come to those who wait. After several years in the entertainment business, and just when he had began contemplating leaving the business if his career didn't deliver for him, it did.
Roll With the New rocks with the funny reality of everyday life. Without overdoing profanity or sexuality, Rock delivers a funny compilation of sketches that display his many comedic ranges.
