The Tulane Green Wave has taken a firm grasp of first place in Conference USA after sweeping Saint Louis while the Houston Cougars and Southern Miss Golden Eagles were hammered in their respective series (see related stories on Page 11 and this page).
The Wave only has to win one game this weekend against the Memphis Tigers to clinch the C-USA regular season title.
If South Florida or Houston sweeps Louisville or Cincinnati, respectively, and Memphis sweeps Tulane, USF or the Cougars could pass up the Wave.
