One month left

Moody Towers residents may have just one month left of noisy drills and dusty rooms.

According to Sandy Coltharp, assistant director of Residential Life and Housing, the deadline for construction involving fire alarm and sprinkler installation at the Towers is Feb. 24.

"That means everything construction-wise will be done. However, approximately a month of testing will follow," Coltharp said.

Coltharp said RLH will announce what it considers "testing" in late February.

An intense workload helped maintain a timely pace, but the safety equipment installation has not been without complications.

"We had a few problems with the plastic and metal covers," Hidalgo said. "They had a shipment damaged, so it had to be sent back, but it didn't affect our deadline."
