The Houston Cougars football team hired Adrea "Brick" Haley as the new outside linebackers coach, said University of Houston head coach Kim Helton.

Haley comes from NCAA I-AA Troy State, where he had been promoted to defensive coordinator. Haley will help install a 3-4 defense, a defensive set that uses four linebackers and three defensive linemen, for Houston.

The San Diego Chargers announced the hiring of former UH assistant head coach Tyrone Dixon Friday.

Dixon, who coached wide receivers for the Cougars last season, will do the same for the Chargers.
