The soft and erotic voice of lead singer Stacey Evans wafts through songs such as "Violet Skies" and "Out of Words" on Austin-based Dizzybloom's self-titled disc. The 11 melodic tracks are enough to rank this band with any other musicians on the road.
"Edge of the Ending" is a convincing number that keeps a good grip on songwriting and electric guitars. "Sunflowers" explores the soulful mind of the human being, a relationship is dissected in "Two Exits," and "I'm Afraid" paints a mental picture of conscience and reality.
Similar to The Cranberries, but without Dolores O'Riordan's whining, Dizzybloom will not make your head whirl with confusion like some rock-wannabe bands might.
"Heaven Made Me" and "The Back Porch" are satisfying, making a point without aggressiveness. The background can be heard slightly - Juliet Gamero's talent on the piano, Steven Oakes' fingers on his electric and acoustic guitars, and Billy Ray Preston's input on similar instruments. Dizzybloom offers a harmonious scene as they give their audience intelligent lyrics and appropriate sounds.
