Concerning the March 2 article on the firing of Alvin Brooks, his firing doesn't end UH's chance at reclaiming our glory. It begins it! He was 54-83 in his five years at UH and was 5-25 in C-USA and 21-21 in the lowly SWC. Who did he recruit that went to the NBA? No one. Galen Robinson was his best recruit. Galen had a solid year, but he did not live up to his preseason first team C-USA billing.
Also, Rashard Lewis still needs to pass his ACT to become eligible and has not signed with UH as you claimed. It will be a shame if Moses Malone Jr. and Don Emanuel leave, but we had to make a coaching change. I hope we can replace Brooks rather quickly and keep Malone and Emanuel and maybe even bring Lewis into the fold - assuming he becomes eligible.
Brooks has been devoted to UH for 12 years, and I thank him for his dedication and many years of service. I wish him all the best.
