Aramark is finally leaving our campus after years of bad service. It seems like every time I eat on campus there is a problem with my food. Aramark's lack of concern for the student body extends to their student workers.
My wife was a student worker for Aramark. She is a fulltime student and was hired to work part-time for Aramark. She was forced to work full-time by Aramark management and when finals began she was told that work took precedent over her studies.
When she gave her two-weeks' notice, she was told to hit the door and she was refused her paycheck by her direct supervisor. It has been obvious that Aramark doesn't take the students at UH into consideration, and a change is welcome.
In this transition to Chartwells there will be problems, but hopefully they will exert more effort into serving the student body than Aramark.
