Seems Houston just can't get enough of them Dogs.

The Australia-bred Tap Dogs, who made their Houston premiere November, 1996, are waltzing back into Houston this week for eight performances in the Society for the Performing Arts' season finale. If that first '96 run is any indication, the all-male traveling troupe will be greeted with a string of sell-out dates.

The show was designed and directed by Nigel Triffitt and choreographed by Dein Perry; it had its world premiere at the Sydney Theatre Festival in January 1995. It incorporates slick dance moves, unlikely stage props and hunky performers for one uniquely sizzling show.

Recently, the Tap Dogs made their Broadway debut to considerable acclaim.

At first glance they may just look like a bunch of Chippendales' dancers who haven't gotten completely stripped down yet, but the Tap Dogs finish off the package with considerably more personality and a lot more talent.

Performances of Tap Dogs are at 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday; and 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday at the Wortham Center's Brown Theater in downtown. Tickets are $12 to $40. Call (713) 227-ARTS for more information.
