LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Don't judge us by the extremists

In response to Ed De La Garza's column Monday, "Nothing Like a Little Acid," I find it stunning that an educated young man such as De La Garza would base his views on a tough philosophical issue such as abortion on the action of political zealots.

He is wrong in suggesting that pro-lifers don't understand the parallel with the death penalty. Abortion is the state-sanctioned murder of an innocent human life; lethal injection is not. De La Garza is far too cynical of adoption.

Adoption is a beautiful thing: the only decision that leaves a mother without a lifetime of regret.

Attacks on abortion clinics should never be tolerated. Abortion, however, is the second-largest stain on American history.
