University of Houston baseball player Jon McDonald was named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week after earning a win with a solid performance against Central Florida on Sunday.
McDonald worked seven innings and allowed just one earned run on three hits while striking out five as the Cougars defeated the Golden Knights 9-4 - their second straight victory. The senior left-hander from Humble, Texas, held the 27 batters he faced to a .120 batting average and allowed just one walk.
