UC renovations to be completed by Fall Semester The Adventures of Ruth the Pig |
Renovations to the University Center's American Café are on schedule
and should be completed by Aug. 3, three weeks before classes begin for
the Fall semester, but work on the Houston Room will have to wait.
Before I commence my perfunctory tirade for the week, I would like to
apologize for flaking out on last week's column. I know that missing the
recommended weekly dose of sarcasm and unsurpassed wit can cause both an
emotional and a chemical imbalance in some readers.
When hard-rocking, in-your-face band Limp Bizkit released its debut
album, 1997's Three Dollar Bill Y'all, it was largely overlooked
by most critics and rock fans, selling just over a million copies.
Three-time NCAA heptathlon champion and former Houston Cougar Jolanda
Jones was one of five collegiate athletes inducted into the GTE Academic
All-America Hall of Fame this month.

Junior business major Dea Chincuano and band Phuz performed Friday at the Indonesian Consulate of Houston as part of the Pilar Masam Indonesian Food Festival. |
