Bookstore Investment Pays Off for Students UH Law Students Earn Scholarships

Contrary to the expectations of students, the University Bookstore had
short lines, good customer service and a large book supply the first week
of school.
As time passes from one anticlimatic moment to another, we turn up every
rock in search of a milestone, a benchmark, some kind of anvil upon which
to shape and mold our dreary passage through the meandering refuse-filled
bayou of modern life.
Playing By Heart, the new romantic comedy from director Willard
Carroll, plays with the images and mixtures of love, opinions and desire
in such a way that makes the film admirable and fun to watch, but not exactly
a grade-A, through-the-roof film that you should rush to the ticket line
to see.
The Lady Cougars came out swinging on Thursday night against Conference
USA rival Marquette, but the Lady Eagles proved to be too much. Houston
went down 90-64. Marquette beat Houston in every statistical category,
including shooting, shooting percentage, rebounding, blocked shots and
turnovers. The loss left UH, 5-12 (1-6) in the cellar of the National Division
of C-USA.

Students responded to the death of James Byrd and other racial issues and viewpoints Tuesday at the Forum on Race and Community Relations. |
