The Rev. Jesse Jackson addresses reporters at the University Hilton on Monday. Jackson was at UH calling on Gov. George W. in Texas during an unexpected stop at a state higher education board meeting
at UH on Monday, saying Gov. George W. Bush should promote equality in
funding between traditionally Anglo and black state universities.
Political pundit and "lefty" Donald Kaul once said of the Republican
Party that it will not only fade away into obscurity, but historians will
wonder how it lasted as long as it did. Kaul's sentiments are endlessly
echoed by many in the media and nearly every leftist.
Kicking off an awesome weekend of local band shows was the "420Radio.com
Showcase," which took place at Emo's this past Friday and featured three
must-see bands: Simian Revolt, Simpleton Music and Small Craft Advisory.
