Three ex-Coogs going 'down under' |
Extreme vs. extreme:
WWF's Fully Loaded
The Wrestling Report Ed De La Garza Mass chaos erupted at Extreme Championship Wrestling's Heatwave pay-per-view -- and that was after the wrestling was over. It seems Extreme Pro Wrestling, a small federation based in Los Angeles, went to the ECW event (also held in Los Angeles) for free publicity. Several XPW "stars" were sitting in the audience until the main event. At that time, ECW valet Francine was reportedly sexually assaulted by one of the XPW wrestlers. The XPW contingent was escorted out of the building, at which time there was a minor altercation between them and a few ECW employees. ECW and XPW are currently involved in a legal dispute over the use of the word "extreme." A sexual assault charge could be added to the legal mix. Grabbing Francine was definitely a bad idea. Anyway, there was a PPV before the chaos .... Justin Credible retained the ECW World Title against challenger Tommy Dreamer. Gorgeous George turned on Dreamer and Jazz during the match. No, Dreamer's never getting another title again. Rhino retained the TV Title against challenger Sandman. Jerry Lynn defeated Steve Corino. Rob Van Dam defeated Scotty Anton and debuted a new move called the Van Terminator. The move involved placing a chair against Anton's head while he was in one corner of the ring. Van Dam then drop-kicked the chair onto Anton, jumping from the top rope in the opposite corner. Also, Tajiri defeated Psicosis and Little Guido. The team of Danny Doring, Roadkill and Kid Kash defeated Simon Diamond, Johnny Swinger and C.W. Anderson. Big Sal defeated Balls Mahoney. Cocked and loaded The World Wrestling Federation presents its annual July PPV, Fully Loaded, on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. The following is a rundown of the card to date, along with predictions. This PPV features a triple main-event. Contrary to Internet rumors, Steve Austin will not be making an appearance. WWF World Title: Rocky Maivia (champion) vs. Chris Benoit Benoit's been getting a pretty good-sized push as a ruthless and unfeeling heel. It's almost as if the WWF is actually pushing a true heel. Go figure. He's deserving of the belt, but it's probably too early to put the belt around his waist. Prediction: the Rock Last Man Standing match: Triple H vs. Chris Jericho Triple H has gone back to being the unstoppable heel he was before. But, he's still scheduled to get some time off. He may actually be turning face so he can feud with Kurt Angle. Prediction: Jericho The Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle "Stone Cold" Undertaker may be a bad apple, but Olympic hero Angle may have what it takes to knock that chip off his shoulder. Prediction: Angle ... it's true, it's true. WWF Intercontinental Title, Steel Cage match: Val Venis (champion) vs. Rikishi I'm sorry. I know this is a steel cage match, but this match doesn't really interest me. I think it's because I know somewhere in this match I'll be forced to watch Scotty Too Hotty dance. I'm boycotting this match. Prediction: Rikishi WWF Tag Team Titles: Edge and Christian (champions) vs. the Acolytes The Acolytes are in line for a title reign, but Edge and Christian deserve to keep them for a while. They make for good TV. Prediction: Edge and Christian WWF European Title: Eddie Guerrero (champion) vs. Perry Saturn Guerrero may be moving on to a higher-profile feud, and it seems as if the WWF has deemed the European Title as the belt that's eventually worn by all the World Championship Wrestling stars who jumped ship in January. Prediction: Saturn Other matches rumored to be on the card are a six-man tag team match pitting T&A and Trish Stratus against the Hardy Boys and Lita, Tazz vs. Al Snow and the Godfather vs. Bull Buchanan. The Dudleys and D-Generation X will be included somewhere. Predictions: the Hardys, Tazz and Buchanan. Next week -- We'll take a look at the Hulk Hogan situation (it's looking
more and more like a work), plus a report on Fully Loaded.
