The UH electronic marquee just outside of Hofheinz Pavilion displayed a new message announcing the nearness of the 2000 UH baseball season. The Cougars will start the year Feb. 4 in Austin for a three-game season against the Texas Longhorns. Frontier Fiesta planners are investigating ways to improve safety at
the annual event, both in light of the November bonfire collapse at Texas
A&M University and in the interest of Fiesta's longevity.

A UHPD driver, responding to a report of individual assault at the library, ended up on the walkway between the Hilton Hotel and the Moody Towers and hit two park benches. No one was hurt. |
