Williams, DePaul
never trail in 78-54 win over UH
Cougar Sports Services DePaul's Lenae Williams was too much for the Lady Cougars to handle as the Blue Demons beat UH 78-54 at Alumni Hall on Friday. Williams broke a single season school record for three-point field goals as she dropped in 31 points for DePaul, who led by as many as 22 points early on and went into halftime with a 40-20 advantage. The second half was much the same, with DePaul's lead growing to as much as 23 with 12:10 remaining in the game. UH went on a 16-1 run over a nine-minute stretch from that point, but DePaul answered with a 17-2 run of their own. DePaul was aided by Candis Blankson and Yolanda Lewis, who each scored 10 points.
UH's leading scorers were Kathy Williams and Jessica Shanklin. Both dropped in nine points on the night. DePaul improved to 12-7, 5-3 in Conference USA, while the Cougars fell to 6-12, 3-5 in C-USA play. Next up for the Cougars will be two home games versus Alabama-Birmingham
on Friday, and Memphis on
