Wednesday is Career Day

The UH Department of Biology and Biochemistry will help connect science students with major scientific employers Wednesday at its third annual Career Day.

"The main purpose of the event is to bridge the gap between the corporate and academic community," said UH alumna and Career Day Chairwoman Angela Garrett.

Several scientific leaders, including the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, VWR Scientific Products and Lexicon Genetics, will be available to discuss research with professors and employment opportunities with students.

Garrett said graduate schools will also be present.

The Career Day will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Moores Great Hall of the Athletic/Alumni Center. In addition, professors and graduate students from the department will speak from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Room 102, Houston Science Center.
