The UH tennis team finally lost a match in the Spring season, bowing to Texas Christian University at the UH Varsity tennis courts Friday.

8-1 was the final, as UH fell to 3-1 in the young season. Sunday's scheduled match against Northwestern was rained out.

The doubles tandem of Galina Seliounina and Mette Sigmundstad was the lone victor for UH, coming away with an 8-4 win.

Seliounina fell to TCU's Lucie Dvorakova earlier in the day, 6-4, 7-6.

Other participants for the Cougars were Joanna Cunliffe, Jen Baccaroni, Annie Rapp and Kailey Meisinger.

Coach Jennifer Hyde and the rest of the Cougar squad will next be in action Saturday in Baton Rouge, La. against Louisiana State University.

UH will be in New Orleans the very next day to face Tulane and will head for the UTEP Shootout in El Paso, to be held Feb. 25-27, for a tournament which includes Colorado, Marquette and Texas-El Paso.

The next home match will be against Oklahoma on March 4.
