Artists

Student Government Association
President James Robertson Jr., Vice President Brandon Butler and 23 of
the 32 student senators were sworn in on Wednesday, signaling the end to
a prolonged appeal process for the student government election.
While running for president, George
W. Bush did make foreign policy a priority. He also demonstrated his relative
ignorance on the subject when he was unable to name the heads of state
during an impromptu foreign policy quiz.
Mayor Lee Brown will welcome Mary
McAleese, the president of Ireland, to the opening ceremony of the 2001
Houston International Festival on Friday. McAleese will speak at the festival's
Keynote Address and Luncheon to an audience of more than 400 people.
The UH women's tennis team heads
into postseason play today as it takes on Charlotte in the first round
of the 2001 Conference USA Championship Tournament in Hattiesburg, Miss.
