Who's there?: An owl perches on the handle of the door to the offices of The Daily Cougar on Saturday (presumably waiting for someone intelligent to show up). It eventually got tired of waiting and left.

Students, faculty, staff and administrators met at the southeast corner of Calhoun Road and University Drive on Friday to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for the UH Recreation and Wellness Center.

The acrimony and bitterness of the past two student government elections has become a caustic cloud that spreads across this campus, poisoning attitudes and distorting perceptions. The viperous fumes seeped under the door into The Daily Cougar on Tuesday during the monthly Student Publication Committee meeting.

Extravagant mountains of money must have existed before the stock market meltdown last year. 

The UH women's tennis team finished fifth in the 2001 Conference USA Championship Tournament this weekend in Hattiesburg, Miss.
