Theatre Junior Jennifer Cherry as "Miranda" faces
Jef Johnson as "The King" in a School of Theatre production of The Little
Mermaid. The Hans Christian Andersen tale is the first of three plays in
the school's 2001 Children's Theatre Festival, which will be held through
August 5.
In addition to the nearly $12
million UH is expected to receive over the next biennium from the Research
Excellence Fund, the Texas Legislature was "very generous to higher education
and the UH System in this session," said UH President Arthur K. Smith.
Because there are so few pedestrians
in Houston, it would take them some time, but they would eventually find
that upright animals have complete control over the metal objects. Not
knowing what composes life here on Earth, the aliens would probably think
that humans keep the autos in perpetual servitude, and that the humans
are incredibly dependent upon their glimmering slaves.
The month of June promises to
be an exciting one for UH students, faculty and staff who are interested
in orchestral and chamber music, thanks to the Texas Music Festival based
at the Moores School of Music.
Memorial Day marked the beginning
of the fifth season of the WNBA as the four-time champion Houston Comets
took on Western Conference nemesis Los Angeles and lost, 66-63.
