'UH, we have a problem': Members of the
Houston fire Department's Hazardous Material Response Team prepare to inspect
the UH Science Center on Wednesday. The building was evacuated after researchers
noticed smoke comming out of a laboratory on the third floor. Though the
team inspected the building numerous times, the source of the gaseous substance
could not be explained.
The majority of students have
only been affected minimally by the campus flood --getting a week off school,
spending extra time in classes to make up for it and perhaps meeting in
a different classroom.
On June 6, the Council of Europe's
Human Rights panel sent a recommendation to the main council body that
unless the United States and Japan repeal thedeath penalty by January 1,

earlier, the U.S. Supreme Court reversed the death penalty of a mentally
retarded man.

to pick up and move to the sunny California, you have to expect them to
experience culture shock. From the fast-paced, often rainy and cold cement-filled
crowded roads of New York, to the laid-back, sunny and warm, palm tree-lined
streets of California, the members of Ultra V thought they were going to
take some time to adjust.
UH volleyball head coach Bill

of eligibility by the NCAA due to multiple injuries during her collegiate
career, will lead the team through a tough non-conference schedule.
