Federal officials tour UH to survey damages

U.S. Secretary of Education Rod Paige and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Houston) toured UH on Saturday to get a first-hand look at the damages to the campus caused by flooding in Tropical Storm Allison, and the University's efforts to recover.

Kaplan ranks UH highly for student financial aid

The University of Houston has been ranked No. 2 for responding to individual student financial aid needs in the in the newly released Kaplan-Newsweek College Catalog 2002. Rob Sheridan, UH director of scholarships and financial aid, gave much of the credit to the Toward EXcellence, Access and Success Grant Program.
