Cougars earn early recognition

The 2001 football season is around the corner and Conference USA is gearing up. As the teams prepare for practice, the coaches sent in their votes for the 2001 C-USA All-Conference squad.

It came down to the wire, but the Houston Astros pulled the trigger on a deal that sent Scott Elarton and a player to be named later to the Colorado Rockies for the right-handed Astacio and cash.
