Superconductivity innovator moves on

C. W. "Paul" Chu, head of the Texas Center for Superconductivity at UH, was named Monday as the next president of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His term will begin in July 2001.
 

Ball Blueprints architectural awards

The Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture broke a fund-raising record at this year's Blueprint Ball, an annual black-tie event held by the college.
 

34th annual 'Fight Night' benefits national charity

The University Center's Houston Room turned into a boxing forum Monday night, complete with fighters out for victory, USA Boxing referees, a master of ceremonies in a tuxedo, a rowdy, jeering crowd and ring girls clad in slinky formal attire.
