The UH Cougar Dolls participated
in Thursday's annual Thanksgiving Day parade that wound through the streets
of downtown Houston. A light drizzle didn't inhibit hundreds of spectators,
who turned out for the event armed with umbrellas and raincoats.
Florida's secretary of state certified
a vote count Sunday giving Texas Gov. George W. Bush a victory -- but by
no means a conclusive one -- in the state's presidential election.
There comes a time in a man's
life when he has to admit that there is more to life than is dreamt of
in his philosophy, that the world is larger than himself and contains limitless
possibilities and wonders.
The place to be Saturday night
was the Engine Room. Blue October, originally from Houston but now residing
in San Marcos, put on an amazing show, playing to a packed venue.
After suffering a loss at the
hands of crosstown rival Rice on Tuesday, the Houston Cougars rebounded
by defeating Southwest Texas State, 73-59, before 3,156 fans at Hofheinz
Pavilion on Saturday.
