Center offers free glaucoma exams

The University Eye Institute at the UH College of Optometry is providing free glaucoma screenings this week to promote Glaucoma Awareness Month.

A memorial service was held at the Cougar Den Tuesday to honor the memory of UH graduate Aurelia Juarez.
 

Approved plan for new arena still controversial

Using public tax money to build stadiums and then turning them over to private interests is not good public policy, said an opponent of the newly approved arena in Houston.
 

Religious group faces oppression

In an action viewed by students who practice Falun Gong at UHCL as an eerily sinister maneuver, two Chinese Consulate employees visited the UH-Clear Lake campus in October and asked Dean of Student Affairs Steve Sutten to ban the organization from the campus. Sutten refused, citing Falun Gong's legitimacy and adherence to the campus regulations.
