Neat trick: Junior electrical engineering
major Nnamdi Nnabuihe displays his hula hoop skills at the Institute of
Electrical and Eletronics Engineers 23rd Annual Chili Cook-off on Thursday
night outside the Engineering Building.
The principles upon which the United States was founded, and
the individuals who gathered at the First Continental Congress to attach
their names to these ideas, exemplify lessons pertinent to the country's
collective sense of apprehension after last fall's terrorist attacks, historian
David McCullough said in a lecture Thursday evening at the UH Hilton Hotel.
Is anyone else concerned with the military endeavor we, as
the United States, are now undertaking? Quite frankly, we are fighting
a war on terror -- not against one or two countries, but an enemy that
exists everywhere, even within our own beautiful boundaries.
Picture this: It's Friday night
and a person is driving down the Beltway at a speed acceptable to the flow
of traffic, but well above the speed limit. As this person passes all other
vehicles, he or she seems to be alone on the road -- except for the flashing
red and blue lights in the rearview mirror.
The UH women's basketball team
(23-7) had little time to celebrate its victory over Rice in the first
round of the Women's National Intercollegiate Tournament on Wednesday.
