Assistant Election Commissioner Maceo Smedley,
left, and Election
Commissioner John Martinez prepare for the 2002 Student
Government Association election season. Voting will take place
March 26 and 27.
The Daily Cougar incorrectly reported Monday that the Student
VoiceParty is running unopposed in this year's Student Government Association
election. In addition to Student Voice, headed by presidential candidate
and junior marketing major Dawona Miller, the Student Vision Party is fielding
19 candidates for the March 26 and 27 election. An independent presidential
candidate has also filed.
When Americans heard there were a few Palestinians who celebrated
and cheered at the news of the attack on the World Trade Center, we were
outraged beyond belief. We shuddered in horror and asked ourselves how
anyone with a conscience could act so inhumanely and be so callous.
The theme is followed by an impressive
performance by female rapper
Eve in association with Fatboy Slim. Humorous
lyrics, trendy beats and
admirable rapping ability combine to form
"Cowboy," a surprising hit.
The UH women's tennis team fell
to No. 75 Texas-El Paso in a
hard-fought dual match last week.
