Renovations to library about to begin

Wishing for a 24-hour library with a coffee shop, laptop hook-ups and comfy lounge chairs? What seems like a dream to finals-stressed
students across campus will soon become a reality at UH. Groundbreaking is set for 3 p.m. Friday for the $45 million expansion project to our
own M.D. Anderson Memorial Library.

Faculty delays its vote

After debating for close to two hours Wednesday, the UH Faculty Senate Faculty Affairs Committee decided the best option was not to vote on a
new process for selecting chairpersons for departments. The vote would have included responsibilities and how a chairperson would be
evaluated.

Excellence awards presented to faculty

They may not always get noticed until it's time to hand out grades, but some UH faculty members were recently recognized for their
accomplishments.
