'Lion
King' roars into Houston
It's been eight years since the animated
version of The Lion King was released into theaters. The widely popular
show was the number one box
office opener in 1994, bringing in $40.9
million. In the first six days of its '95 release Disney's 32nd full-length
animated feature sold 20 million
videos.
'Lovely
and Amazing' a soilid, touching film
It's guaranteed that every other five minutes
on MTV, Britney Spears will appear in a sexually explicit outfit gyrating
her body parts in all directions and
singing lyrics like "Hit me baby one more
time." How is this effective? For guys, well that's obvious, but for women
this new genre of teen pop gives
rise to a wide range of topics. And Lovely
and Amazing indirectly touches on these current female issues.
'Reign'
entertains with eye-candy
Reign of Fire is a hard movie not to like. It delivers exactly what
its trailers promised. Dragons, superb special effects, and a post-apocalyptic
vision with Christian Bale, Matthew McConaughey and Izabella Scorupco running
about wildly.
