Staff has opportunity to vote

University staff members will have an opportunity to make their voices heard Aug. 7 when they cast their ballots in the Staff Council elections.

The candidates are as follows:

Staff Council president -- James McDow (administrative technician, Office of the President); Judy Strecker (executive administrative assistant, Internal
Auditing).

Academic Affairs -- David Britton (director of online development, College of Hotel and Restaurant Management); Tonnett London (adviser, Scholars'
Community); Cathy Murphy (associate director, University Studies); Joe Papick, assistant director of the Child Welfare Education Project, Social Work);
Dawnelle Prince (program coordinator, College of Engineering); Angie Shortt, director of communications, College of Engineering.

University Advancement -- Alistair Boudreaux (Web content administrator, University Relations); Syvalia McKinley (assistant scholarship coordinator, Office
of Development)

Administration and Finance -- Michael Dixon (office assistant, KUHT-TV); Lillian Izquierdo (analyst, Accounts Payable); Virginia Miller (administrative
assistant, Human Resources); Jackie Mitchell (manager, Cougar 1Card); David Page (electrician/carpenter, Physical Plant).

Student Affairs -- Sheila M. Castellano (office assistant, Counseling and Psychological Services); Delores Crawford (advertising manager, Student
Publications); Betty Fields (office coordinator, Registration and Academic Records); Thom Glick (office assistant, Residential Life and Housing); Tiffany
Spurlock (vice president, Division of Student Affairs).

At-large -- Jean Valyan (financial coordinator, Office of Administration and Finance Business Services)

The following polling locations will be open from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.: Rm. 183, Area 17, General Services; First Floor lobby, Ezekiel Cullen; the University
Center breezeway; the PGH breezeway; the Hofheinz Pavilion concourse; Second Floor hallway, Building 3, University Business Park; Rm. 2195, College of
Optometry; Computer Lab, College of Hotel and Restaurant Management.
