'Green'
succeeds with an overlooked story
In 1975, following the end of a 20-year-long
anti-communism campaign by the United States, millions of Vietnamese fled
their homeland and scattered
across the world. Green Dragon is about
those who made it to Camp Pendleton, an army base the size of Rhode Island
outside of San Diego, used to hold Vietnamese refugees in the U.S. until
proper housing was made available.
Fivesixsixfive
falls into patterns in debut album
"Patterns," says a lot more about the Florida-based duo Fivesixsixfive's
debut album than the first track intended.
Bowling
for Soup's 'Drunk' isnt punk enough to last
Drunk Enough to Dance is the latest album
from the punk-pop band Bowling for Soup. Normally when you hear "punk"
and "pop" in the same sentence,
images of quirky high-school kids in "punk
rock" T-shirts from Hot Topic start swimming in your brain. Bowling for
Soup, however, is considerably less
annoying.
