No, it's not the Rice owl: Junior art education
major Christina Gutierrez puts her creativity to good use while painting
an owl during art class.
The Battalion, the student newspaper of Texas A&M University,
was forced to apologize in Monday's editions of its publication for publishing
a cartoon many found to be insensitive.
Media coverage during the past
several months has been absolutely saturated with news on the Sept. 11
attacks, the current U.S.-led war against Al-Qaida, and the collapse of
Enron. Even before that, we spent the entire summer reading about Gary
Condit's affair with a missing D.C. intern just because the American press
was that desperate for stories.
I might be a little biased by
the fact that I've met him many times and he's absolutely the most charming
and unpretentious person I, personally, have ever been swept away by the
music of, but I nonetheless feel objective in saying this: Adam Carroll
rules.
San Diego is known for its breathtaking
weather, its natural beauty and its world-famous zoo.
