Azteca's offers reggae, hip hop

Every Friday night students must decide where to spend their money and their precious few hours of partying time.

Aztecai s Margarita Bar and Grill is one spot to add to your Friday night list because they keep the good vibes flowini.

If you are in desperate need of some reggae to dance to, Aztecais on Fridays is a must. The eveningis rotation is mainly reggae and hip-hop, but drum ‘ni bass DJs turn up on occasion too.

The evening is hosted by the lovely "earth princess," Sarah, who keeps the crowd moving with her famous jungle juice. When the whistle blows, itis almost like a Cancun flashback, the earth princess makes sure the crowd gets a free shot of her famous juice.

The drinks at Aztecais are not outrageously priced, and their margaritas are a specialty. The Friday night event has been happening for over six months, and usually draws a pretty good crowd. So donit worry about ending up at the least populated place in town on Friday night.

Joe B, part of the Starlight Crew, is the resident DJ on Friday night. DJ Supa Neil pops in once or twice a month for an extra special night of reggae, and if youire lucky, you just might catch DJ Melodic.

The night is an overall bargain. Like most places, ladies get in free before 11 p.m. and afterward, the cover is $5. For you fellas, itis $5 all night long. You must be 21 and up to get in the door, always, sorry freshman.

By now Aztecais sounds like a club, sorry for the deception. Itis actually a restaurant during the day and well into the night. However, the food hasnit received the best reviews. The restaurant has two floors and a nice-sized patio that overlooks Shepherd Plazais traffic.

Downstairs boasts a full bar with one DJ, and upstairs has a very limited bar with another DJ. On warm summer nights the patio is sometimes occupied with special guest DJs.

The verdict: With a combo of rad DJs and good vibes, Aztecais and Starlight are comini up.
