Sports Cougars blaze a trail to Austin for Texas Relays Cougar Sports Staff Thereis no rest for the weary. Just three days after winning the menis and womenis team titles at the Tom Tellez Invitational, the Cougar track and field team heads to Austin to compete in the Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium today through Saturday.
Sophomore Milton Manson, who had a first-place finish at the Tom Tellez Invitational, will compete in the 110-meter hurdles at the Texas Relays today through Saturday in Austin. Colleges and high schools will compete separately at the meet. Pin Lim/The Daily Cougar The event includes competitors from colleges and high schools. Aside from Houston, other Texas schools at the meet are: Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Christian, Texas Tech, Texas Southern, Rice, Baylor, Southern Methodist, Texas-Arlington, Texas-El Paso, Texas-Pan American, Texas-San Antonio, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Stephen F. Austin, North Texas, Lamar, Sam Houston, Prairie View A&M, Southwest Texas State, Angelo State and Abilene Christian. The menis team won three running events, three field events and a relay while the Lady Cougars won five events and a relay at the Tellez Invitational. The Cougars will next head to Baton Rouge, La., to compete in the LSU Alumni Gold meet April 12. UH wonit host a meet until the Houston Invitational on April 19.
