SPC picks top editors
In its last and most attended meeting of the year, the
Student Publications Committee, which oversees the Student Publications
Department, elected the editors in chief for The Daily Cougar and the Houstonian
yearbook Thursday.
Poverty reduction faces obstacles,
banker says
John Page, the World Bankis director of poverty
reduction, said Thursday at the C.T. Bauer College of Business that
although progress is being made in eradicating poverty internationally,
neither reducing child mortality nor promoting maternal health are among
goals likely to be
realized.
