Letters to the Editor Break the mold To the editor: I truly agree with Paul Eckertis guest column ("Break free from the puppeteer," Thursday, Opinion). Marriage is not for everyone, and we are seeing an increase in the divorce rate because the social constraints are no longer there to force people to stay married (less disapproval, women's liberation, etc.). It's not because we are degenerate; it's because some people are just not made for marriage (or for each other). Some people are crying to return to the good old days of the 1950s when everybody had to fit the cookie-cutter mold. Marry young, have kids and pursue the American Dream a house in suburbia, the picket fence, the two-car garage (with a sport utility vehicle nowadays), two kids and the family dog. Mom stays home and bakes cookies, while Dad goes to work how idealistic. Nadine Stevens
