Iraq life, activist says
The Garden of Eden stinks, "human shield" activist Benjamin
Joffe-Walt told a meager audience at UH on Tuesday, largely because more
than two-thirds of Iraqis water treatment plants were destroyed in the
1991 Gulf War and havenit been repaired.
HTI study shows program's success
with teachers
The results of a 10-month-long survey and study of the
Houston Teachers Institute conducted by UH sociologists indicate that the
program is seeing great success in fulfilling all of its goals, HTI director
Paul Cooke said at the programis celebratory conference Tuesday.
